The Nature of the Current

There is a current that moves through all lives.
It bends, yields, resists, and disappears.
It is not one thing, but four movements—
and yet when seen clearly, it is only one.

To live freely is to follow the current without assuming it is fixed.
To preserve oneself is to know where the current thins.
To see clearly is to notice when the current clouds.
To speak truth is to crash against what blocks the way.

He who clings to one motion becomes rigid.
He who shifts with all four becomes unbound.
